Toast Amy Krone Globe Basket

Globe basket crafted from hand-split white oak and white ash by TOAST New Maker Amy Krone, a weaver and founder of the Cambium Lost Arts project based in the Catskill Mountains, New York. The oak is mindfully sourced from trees on the maker’s land and carefully split to create thin, pliable strips. These are hand-woven with white ash to form the modern take on a traditional hen basket, thought to have originated from the Cherokee tribe of America. Intended for harvesting fruit and vegetables, the basket takes approximately 20 hours to make. Each varies slightly in shape and colour. This item is part of our New Makers programme. In its sixth year, five makers demonstrating excellence in skill, originality and craftsmanship have been chosen by a TOAST panel. We offer business and marketing advice, as well as a platform to sell their pieces until the end of this year, with full profits being returned to them. If you place an order today, it will be made for you and then sent to you directly from Amy Krone. Delivery is included in the price but, as this item is dispatched from the US, import duties and local sales tax may be payable on receipt for countries outside of the US.
